Why does Bugs Bunny eat carrots?

In his earliest cartoons, Bugs eats other foods, such as celery and apples. According to Friz Freleng's unpublished memoirs, Bugs' carrot eating was inspired by Clark Gable's character in It Happened One Night. Gable's character eats carrots while talking, and that inspired Freleng to have Bugs try carrots.

Why does Bugs Bunny wear gloves?

Because he's fancy! Just kidding- it's an animation thing. In an interview with Vox, animation historian John Canemaker suggested that early black and white cartoon characters were given white gloves so their hands could stand out from their bodies and the backgrounds. As cartoons evolved into color, the gloves stuck around. Marvin the Martian and Porky Pig also occasionally wear gloves.
